Independence Gives First November Donation Event

Get Ready Independence! This is your opportunity to be a part of a NKY tradition – all month long! The Independence Volunteer Corps wants to invite you to participate in this month’s donation event!

This month Independence Gives First is collecting donations for the Steinford Toy Foundation. In 1932 a NKY couple, Rose and George Steinford recognized with many hardships that families were facing that many children in their neighborhood would not experience the joys of Christmas, so they began purchasing and repairing old toys and assumed the role of Mr. & Mrs. Claus for the neighborhood children.

This all volunteer foundation continues the belief, “that the Christmas spirit will fill a child’s heart in a time of need.” In the Christmas season of 2018 they were able to provide Christmas presents for more than 3700 needy children in Northern Kentucky. Please visit their website to read the entire story.

Please help if you are able by dropping off donations at the Independence City Building anytime, day or night. There is a marked barrel right when you walk in!

Items needed:

New toys and teen gifts for boys and girls, ages 0-17. Donations will be collected all month (now through 11.30)
